Basic Info:

Name: Brigham Young. “Young” was the surname of his witch “mother.”

Age: Twenty-eight years old.

Gender: Male.

Species: Cougar/owl gryphon, magically enhanced with a human form accessible at will.

Orientation: Panromantic asexual. He’s also a virgin and is waiting for that “special person” to come along. (Also, he doesn’t actually…understand sex. He knows “when two people who love each other get married…,” and that’s it.)

Date of Birth: January 5^th, 1983.

Zodiac Sign: Capricorn.

Personality: Brigham is extremely childish, and even bordering on doglike. He’s excited to meet new people, and latches onto those who stick around in hopes of befriending them. He’s totally loyal to his friends and completely selfless to everyone, without exceptions; he always tries to see the good in people, no matter what they’ve done to him, or to others.

Brigham is the complete opposite of his younger self: He requires a social life to function properly and is eager to try new things. He welcomes change, even though it makes him slightly nervous sometimes if it’s something major. He can be stubborn at times but he’ll do whatever somebody asks of him, no questions asked. Gullible and hyperactive, Brigham is just a really, really big kid trying to find himself again while exploring the world around him that he’d never really noticed before.

Current Residence: He’s taken up residence with Miggs recently.

Background: Brigham is a gryphon - specifically, a Texas cougar/Northern Hawk Owl gryphon, rather than the traditional lion/eagle gryphon. He was born in the woods to gryphon parents, but to their dismay was stolen by a witch who hoped to keep him as a pet. She used a spell to grant him a humanoid form, that of a ten-year-old boy retaining his animal markings; and from then on he doubled as both a pet as well as a son to her. She taught him what she could about magic as they lived out of her small shack deep in the woods, but after about two years she disappeared completely. Brigham never learned what happened to her - if she abandoned him, passed away, or what - but regardless he returned to his life as a gryphon in the wild, with occasional glimpses of the stoic child his witch “mother” had created.

When he was about eighteen, Brigham had a major regress in his maturity due to a traumatic event he completely repressed and blocked from his memory. The intelligent but quiet young boy he’d been while human was gone, replaced by a loyal, but gullible and dependent man who acted more like a little kid than he had when he was younger. He also began using his gryphon form less and less, because the lesser intelligence and the inability to physically speak to people unnerves him.

Other Info:

• According to the government, Brigham doesn’t even exist - he has no birth certificate or paperwork of any kind to prove his existence. He can’t do a lot of things that would be available to other people because of this, and doesn’t trust himself or anyone to forge his documentation.

• Brigham is entirely self-taught - he was never schooled on how to read and write, at least not properly, and knows very little in other departments like math, history and science. His “mother” only taught him what he needed to know in order to practice magic. He has trouble with larger words and is still unsure, even now, how to spell his name correctly. He also doesn’t know his multiplication, and counts things on his fingers (and toes if necessary).

• While a gryphon, he can only speak to others via telepathy. He’s also susceptible to being more instinctive than rational; though his intelligence allows him reasoning abilities and he remembers what he knows as a human, he still acts more like any normal animal would.

• He fucking loves cuddles, guys. Brigham is extremely touchy-feely. He loves platonic contact with people, like hugs, kisses, and especially cuddling or petting.
